Hang Seng : what is it ?
The Hang Seng Index, often known as the HSI in traditional Chinese, is a Hong Kong stock market index that is weighted by market capitalization and adjusted for free float. It is the primary gauge of the general performance of the Hong Kong market and is used to document and track the daily fluctuations of the biggest businesses listed on the stock exchange. Approximately 67% of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange’s value is comprised of these 45 companies.
HSI Services Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hang Seng Bank, the largest bank registered and listed in Hong Kong in terms of market capitalization, now compiles and maintains HSI, which was launched on November 24, 1969.
